How to find a good deal on internet?

Everyone wants a good deal, but little realize that usually you can find the best deal on something just by sitting at your computer and looking online. Sure some people enjoy going to the store and actually touching and feeling the product they desire, but some people don't care about that. So here is a step by step list on how to find what you want on the internet and keeping more green in your wallet.

Things You'll Need

  • Time
  • Money
  • Determination
  1. Research. You may know what you want, but what brand should you buy? Do some research online. There are many websites that can be found with both professional and consumer reviews of products. Use these to your advantage. Chances are if everyone has the same problem with a product you will find out by doing a little research. Then you just have to decide how much of a downer that problem may be for you.
  2. Comparison shop. There are many website that search many online retailers for the best price. Some ones that I use frequently are pricegrabber.com, and pricescan.com, but there are others. Use these to your advantage. You can also search other sites just by typing the name of the product you want in any major search engine. You will have many results pop up, but you might just find a hidden gem.
  3. Consider Used. The internet is the worlds largest yard sale. The nice thing is you don't have to sift through all kinds of junk in order to stumble across something that you may be looking for. Sites like craigslist.org and ebay.com, and many others can be searched for the specific product you are looking to get.Just beware of scams. Always use a credit card or paypal so if your seller doesn't come through with his end of the bargain you are covered. Be realistic. If someone is going to sell you a brand new car for $100 dollars chances are its a scam. Also give as little personal information as necessary.

Pick the best deal. Remember that most online retailers will not charge sales tax, but if the retailer also has actual physical locations in your state, you will be required to pay sales tax.

Don't forget about the shipping cost. Alot of online retailers offer free shipping offers, but many don't and shipping charges can quickly ruin any "good" deal. Make sure you know what the shipping cost is before you confirm any order. Some retailers will be upfront about their shipping costs, but other retailers will require you to go part way through the checkout procedure before they will reveal the shipping cost. Don't be afraid to walk away if the deal is ruined by the high shipping cost.
